With less than ten weeks to go until the opening round of the 2024 European Le Mans Series (ELMS) season, Vector Sport is pleased to announce that Stéphane Richelmi will join the team in its LMP2 line up for the No.10 ORECA-07 Gibson entry. Monegasque driver Stéphane Richelmi comes to the team with race-proven experience, with highlights being winning the Le Mans 24 Hours, FIA World Endurance Championship (LMP2, 2016) and Asian Le Mans Series (2017-18), all in an ORECA LMP2.  The 33-year-old has most recently been an Official Test & Development driver for the ACO and H24Project led MissionH24 programme and will continue in that role alongside his racing commitments. This will be the UK-based team’s first season in the European Le Mans Series after moving from the World Endurance Championship grid. The team will also be logging an entry for the 101st year of Le Mans 24 Hours alongside the ELMS programme. Gary Holland, Team Principal Vector Sport said of the signing: “We are absolutely delighted to welcome Stéphane to the team. He is a proven winner and I am sure will fit seamlessly into the team given that he has worked with a large number of the team members before. I feel we now have a fantastic balance of speed, consistency and maturity. Our driver line up consists of winners of the major endurance events including Le Mans 24 Hours, Daytona 24 Hours, WEC races and Asian Le Mans Series, and we fully intend to make our mark in ELMS.” Stéphane Richelmi commented: “I am really pleased to join Vector Sport for ELMS alongside my role in the Mission H24 programme. They are a professional team and I will be reunited with people I have shared good memories with including Gabriel Aubry, who I have shared some previous successes with. We are all very motivated to chase podiums again and are looking forward to the first race already”.
