The next manufacturer to join the main class of endurance racing is Aston Martin in 2025. The British manufacturer has enlisted the services of The Heart of Racing, which will run the car in WEC (Hypercar) and IMSA (GTP).

Aston Martin's LMH prototype will be based on the Valkyrie AMR Pro.

It will be another year before the Valkyrie makes its racing debut, but the brand has already started the work. Present at Daytona, Adam Carter, who is in charge of Endurance at Aston Martin, confided that the test programme had already begun a few weeks ago at Silverstone. "All I can say is that it was cold," smiled Adam Carter. "It was just a matter of testing different systems on an AMR Pro". No word yet on which driver was behind the wheel of the prototype.

"Testing will continue intensively over the coming weeks and months," continues Carter. "We have very clear objectives for the tests during the next few runs." The prototype will be powered by a 6.5-litre V12 engine without hybrid system.

By starting with an existing model, Aston Martin has more latitude in terms of timing, given that the race car is expected to hit the track in the second quarter of the year.
