The 62nd edition of the 24 Hours of Daytona, the opening round of the Endurance season and the IMSA SportsCar Championship, takes place next week on the Daytona International Speedway. To find out all about it and make sure you don't miss a thing, here's our Guide.
The 62nd edition of the 24 Hours of Daytona will take place next week at the Daytona International Speedway in Florida. This event was created in 1966, when the format of 24 hours was adopted after two races of three hours and two of 2,000 km. That first edition saw the triumph of the Ford GT40 of Ken Miles / Lloyd Ruby.
Until 1981, the Florida classic was part of the World Sports Car Championship. While we won't retrace its entire history here, it's worth noting that it has opened the IMSA SportsCar Championship season since its rebirth in 2014.
