Cetilar Racing starts its third year in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship this weekend at Daytona, fielding for the second season the #47Ferrari 296 GT3 that led to debut on the same trioval 12 months ago.

The all-Italian team returns to track, always with the technical support of AF Corse, for the traditional Roar before the Rolex which will be also valid to define the grid of the 62nd edition of the 24 Hours scheduled one week later.

To share the latest evolution of the Maranello car will be team owner and experienced driver Roberto Lacorte, Antonio Fuoco (who set the pole at the 24 Hours of Le Mans last year in a Ferrari 499P Hypercar) and Giorgio Sernagiotto, completing the trio of drivers who will take part for the third season in a row in the Endurance series, of which the Daytona 24 Hours is the first of the five rounds of the 2024 calendar.

Joining them for the first time will be Eddie Cheever III, who makes his second appearance in the American big one following his debut in 2018. For all the others, it will be their fourth participation in the Florida race, after the 2021 one with the Dallara LMP2 and the Ferrari 488 GT3 EVO 2020 in 2022 and the brand-new 296 GT3 in 2023, for total of 1,406 race laps completed in 49 hours, 42 minutes and 35 seconds over the three editions.

The upcoming season will be the one in which Cetilar Racing aims to reap the rewards of a 2023 that has certainly served to grow and develop the Ferrari 296 GT3, with the concrete ambition to return to success in the GTD class where the last victory is dated March 12, 2022, when Lacorte, Fuoco and Sernagiotto secured the win in the 70th edition of 12 Hours of Sebring.

With 59 car expected, Friday will begin with the first two practice sessions. Three more sessions are scheduled for Saturday and one for Sunday, when the Daytona 24H qualifying will take place at 1:55 PM local time (7:55 PM in Europe).
