Due to its crew, it would have been surprising if the #60 EVO2/Iron Lynx Lamborghini Huracan GT3 had been able to run in GTD. Now, it will run in GTD PRO.

With Romain Grosjean and Matteo Cairoli both FIA Platinum drivers, it was strange to see the #60 EVO2 Lamborghini Huracan GT3 in the GTD class at the 24 Hours of Daytona.

Matteo Cressoni (Silver) and Claudio Schiavoni (Bronze) will be with the two official Lamborghini Squadra Corse drivers at the Florida classic in January.

The IMSA championship's sporting regulations stipulate that a maximum of one Platinum-rated driver can be part of the same GTD crew.

When the entry list for the 24 Hours of Daytona was revealed yesterday, the #60 Lamborghini was in GTD, but it is now in GTD PRO alongside the #19 Iron Lynx shared by Franck Perera, Jordan Pepper, Andrea Caldarelli and Mirko Bortolotti.

IMSA takes into account the FIA classification of drivers, although a committee called IDEC (IMSA Driver Evaluation Committee) can adjust the FIA classification. There will be no derogation for the #60.
