Ginetta is continuing its development of the G56 GT3 Cup car in the CREVENTIC winter series, racing in 6h Abu Dhabi and the rescheduled 24h Dubai 26-28 January, the latter including a 4th driver.

Last time out, the Toro Verde run Ginetta team of Lawrence Tomlinson, Freddie Tomlinson and Mike Simpson achieved a debut win in the GTX class at the 12H Kuwait.

Joining the team for the 24h Dubai is Nico Prost, who said: I am really delighted to join Ginetta for the 24 hours of Dubai. It will be great racing with Lawrence, Freddie, and Mike. It’s been a long time since my last 24-hour race but I am really motivated and will prepare very hard for it as we want to get a great result there.”

Nico has a wealth of experience in endurance racing, having contested Le Mans multiple times and winning the LMP1 privateer class at Le Mans in 2014.

Mike Simpson said of Nico joining the team, “We’re excited to have Nico with us. He’s achieved a lot in motorsport, particularly with our French partners CMR whom we recently launched a GT Academy race series with. His endurance racing experience makes him the perfect choice to fill that fourth seat in Dubai and help us with the development of the Cup car.”

Nico has been competing at the 24h Le Mans since 2007, making his debut just one year after Lawrence Tomlinson’s Le Mans class win. For 2009 he jumped up to the LMP1 class and continued to race LMP1s in the American Le Mans series in 2011.

In 2016 he competed both at Le Mans and in the Formula E championship, standing on the podium 3 times and once with a win. In the 2016 FE season, he won 2 races and finished 3rd in the overall driver standings whilst at the same time competing in the 2016 WEC season in the LMP1 class.

In 2022 Nico won the FFSA GT Pro/Am championship with team CMR. As a former F1 test & reserve driver, Nico has driven at the top tier of motorsport and continues to make an impact wherever he drives.
