Fabio Scherer - winner of the Centenary 24 Hours of Le Mans race and 2023 FIA World Endurance Championship LMP2 vice-champion - is back with United Autosports, signing for an exciting season in the ultra-competitive European Le Mans Series LMP2 Pro class.

The 24-year-old began his racing career in karts, moving up to Formula 4 and FIA Formula 3, before taking on DTM in 2020 and LMP2 sportscars in 2021.

He has since raced in LMP2 classes around the world, competing in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) every year since 2021, the European Le Mans Series (2022) and IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship (2022).

“I am super happy and honoured to be back with United Autosports,” says Scherer. “We had a good time last time and enjoyed great success – but we had some bad luck too. This year, we are looking to win as many races as possible and bring the European Le Mans Series championship home.”

Scherer made his LMP2 debut with United Autosports in the 2021 FIA World Endurance Championship, celebrating victory at the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, the opening race of the season, and the 6 Hours of Monza with teammates Filipe Albuquerque and Phil Hanson.

“It’s really great to have Fabio back with the team,” says United Autosports CEO  Richard Dean. “His transition to LMP2 was so strong, winning his first two races with us in the 2021 WEC. Now, we’re a few years down the line and Fabio is a Le Mans winner and WEC vice-champion, with three solid seasons of LMP2 experience under his belt. I can’t wait to get him back in the United Autosports ORECA 07.”

In 2024, Scherer will be reunited with 2021 co-driver Albuquerque, as they join forces once again – this time, going for outright victory in the European Le Mans Series in the #23 ORECA 07.

“I think it’s going to be a great season,” says Scherer. “I’m really glad to join United Autosports once again and thank the team for the trust they have in me.”
