New names, revitalized visual identity, unprecedented categories... With five years of experience, the Ultimate Cup European Series is set for key changes as the highly anticipated 2024 season approaches.
The 2024 season calendar of the Ultimate Cup European Series comprises six events, marked by the return of prestigious circuits from the European and international motorsports scene. In addition to the renowned tracks of Castellet, Magny-Cours, and Hockenheim, the circuits of Portimão in Portugal and Mugello in Italy add to these top-notch destinations.
New names
As part of its European expansion, the series will maintain its four major grids with revisednames to now include:- Ultimate GT Sprint Cup- Ultimate GT Endurance Cup- European Endurance Prototype Cup- Ultimate Formula Cup
New GT category names
To enhance clarity and appeal in the different categories, their names have been redesigned for the upcoming season. For the Ultimate GT Endurance and Sprint Cup disciplines, the categories will now be identified by the following names: UGT2, UGT3, UGTX, UGT4, UGTlight, PC.Eligible cars: commercial@gpmotors-sport.com
Rookie ranking in Single-Seaters
Since its inception in 2019, the Ultimate Cup European Series has consistently played a crucial role in highlighting young talents. This commitment materializes with the introduction of a "rookie" ranking within the Single-Seater Challenge for the 2024 season.The winner will be offered the exceptional opportunity by the Ultimate Cup European Series to participate in the 2024 Rookie Test of the Formula Regional European Championship with Art Grand Prix or will be offered support to continue in the Ultimate Cup European Series championship of his choice in 2025.
Ultimate Cup AMR Trophy
Aston Martin Racing is fully engaged in the championship by promoting the establishment of a dedicated category within the Ultimate GT Sprint Cup, aiming to reward teams and drivers participating with Aston Martin Vantage GT4s. For the top three in the challenge, the Ultimate Cup European Series will offer a reward of up to €53,000.
Two Six-Hour races
Designed based on a four-hour race format per event, the configurations of the European Endurance Prototype Cup and the Ultimate GT Endurance Cup see some adjustments in 2024 with the addition of a six-hour race in Portimão for prototypes and a six-hour race for the finale at Castellet for GT cars.
Goodyear, GT and single-seater tire supplier, Michelin in Prototype
For the first time since the championship's inauguration in 2019, a second tire manufacturer joins the adventure. Goodyear will now be the tire supplier used in both Sprint and Endurance for GT cars, and in single seater (13 inch).. Furthermore, Michelin, the historic partner of the Ultimate Cup European Series, will maintain its partnership by still equipping the prototypes and the 17 inch single seaters.
