While the Japanese manufacturer had accustomed us to a predominantly white livery, Toyota has changed the dress of its cars, while maintaining a unity between the WEC and the WRC.

At last year's Le Mans 24 Hours, fans were delighted to see the cherry blossoms adorning various parts of the GR010 Hybrid's bodywork. Well, this winter, the decision has been taken to radically change the appearance of the cars representing the Japanese manufacturer's official interests in competition.

This applies to both the Yaris in WRC and the GR010 Hybrid in WEC, which will now be fitted with a much darker, predominantly matt black bodywork. The GR (for Gazoo Racing) logo, however, is still very much in evidence. The new colours give the two Japanese cars a much more aggressive look.

The press release states that there are two concepts for the all-new matt black livery for the GR Yaris Rally1 Hybrid and the GR010 Hybrid, which complete in the respective FIA World Championships. One of the concepts is « Speed » representing our spirit, « Hate to lose ». The other one is the « Prototype » which represents making even-better motorsports-bred cars and to keep evolving.

The new livery will be used not only in WRC and WEC, but also in the other competitions in which Toyota Gazoo Racing takes part. It's another opportunity to salute the Japanese manufacturer's omnipresence in motor sport. Last weekend, at the FIA Prize Giving in Baku, three of the six manufacturers' titles were awarded to Toyota (Rally-Raid, WRC and WEC).

As a reminder, two GR010 Hybrids will be entered next year for the entire 2024 World Endurance Championship season, for Mike Conway / Kamui Kobayashi / Nyck de Vries and Sébastien Buemi / Brendon Hartley / Ryo Hirakawa. The aim: a sixth Le Mans 24 Hours victory and a seventh World Endurance Championship title.
