WEC - OFFICIAL: Phil Hanson joins Team Jota in the Hypercar class
To find any trace of a season in which Phil Hanson represented the interests of a team other than United Autosports, you have to go back to 2017, his first in LMP2. Back then, he drove for Tockwith Motorsports. Well, next year, the 24-year-old Briton will be discovering two new teams... and the top class of Endurance racing.
Although his participation in the IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup rounds in the JDC-Miller MotorSports Porsche 963 had already been made official, he still had to confirm his WEC entry, as revealed by Endurance-Info at the beginning of December. And now it's done! Phil Hanson will have a busy programme in 2024.
We are thrilled to announce Phil Hanson will be driving #Mighty38 in 2024 👊 Welcome to the team Phil!#HertzTeamJOTA #JOTASport #WEC pic.twitter.com/H0aNewqefz

In the World Endurance Championship, he will drive the #38 Porsche 963, sharing the wheel with Denmark's Oliver Rasmussen. This official announcement puts an end to the dreams of Sebastian Vettel fans, who had hoped to see their idol in WEC next year. But the German no longer wishes to devote as much time to motor sport.
Phil Hanson is the second driver Team Jota has made official today, following Norman Nato.
