Although these collective tests have no official value, it was the Lamborghini SC63 which topped the timesheets in its first public appearance.

As you know, this IMSA-sanctioned test will be used by the legislators to establish the fairest possible BoP tables for the coming season, and has no official value whatsoever. What's more, as we don't know the programme of the various protagonists, there's no point in getting carried away by this or that lap time. In the Lamborghini clan, however, we can take some satisfaction from this first day.

Andrea Caldarelli was the only driver assigned to the SC63 yesterday, setting the fastest time of the day (1'35''027). By way of comparison (useless for various reasons), the fastest race lap of the 2023 edition of the Rolex 24 was set by Tom Blomqvist (Acura ARX-06) : 1'35''616.

In the end, the Italian was 0'126 and 0'311 quicker than the #10 WTR with Andretti Acura ARX-06 driven by Ricky Taylor / Filipe Albuquerque / Marcus Ericsson and the #01 Chip Ganassi Racing Cadillac V-Series.R driven by Sébastien Bourdais / Renger van der Zande / Scott Dixon, who set the fastest time of the morning session. Porsche and BMW were just behind.

Another positive note for the Lamborghini clan: the car didn't encounter any particular problems apart from a somewhat late arrival on track and a puncture on the left rear. After Caldarelli, Romain Grosjean, Daniil Kvyat and Mirko Bortolotti are expected in the Italian LMDh today.

In the LMP2 class, it was the Inter Europol by PR1 Mathiasen Motorsports team which showed its strengths thanks to its two Frenchmen. Tom Dillmann set the morning's fastest time of 1'39''279 and Clément Novalak the afternoon's best of 1'38''477. Nicklas Nielsen (Oreca 07 #88 / AF Corse) and Hunter McElrea (Oreca 07 #11 / TDS Racing) completed the top three.

Testing resumes today. Three sessions - which the GTPs and LMP2s will this time share with the GTDs and GTD Pros - are on the programme (9am-12pm, 1pm-5pm and 6pm-9pm).
