First time in Imola - While waiting to start the long homologation period, Isotta Fraschini also went to Imola where the FIA World Endurance Championship will its second 2024 race, taking advantage of a two-day event booked by other teams in view of the last round of the Italian GT championship that will take place on this circuit next weekend.

The crowding was a problem but also a good experience, because running together with many much slower cars simulates the hard life during long endurance races with constant lappings to do, but it did not allow many clean laps to evaluate the potential performance.

Variable conditions - The weather at the end of October could not be reliable, so during the first day the track was very wet in some parts and better in others, but in any case the use of rain tyres was always required. However, on the second day the track was completely dry, albeit with not very hot asphalt. The two Michelotto Engineering test drivers Marco Bonanomi and Jean-Karl Vernay took turns driving on both days, covering more than 750 kilometres.

Claudio Berro, Motorsport Director of Isotta Fraschini: « We can only be satisfied with this Imola stage, two days dedicated to the final fine-tuning of the car before movint to the wind tunnel for homologation and then at the FIA technical center in France. The weather variable between rain and sun gave us the opportunity to test the car in different configurations, correct to simulate endurance races where meteorological variables are always lurking. I thank Jean-Karl, Marco and all the Technical Personnel for the excellent work done up to date. »
