The Hyperpole will be one of the new features on all rounds of the WEC calendar in 2024.

On the sidelines of Thursday's World Motor Sport Council meeting in Geneva, the FIA made official the introduction of a Hyperpole session next season, as part of a completely revised qualifying format.

Competitors in both Hypercar and LMGT3 will compete in two separate sessions. Each category will benefit from an initial 12-minute qualifying session, followed by a 10-minute Hyperpole for the top 10 qualifiers.

This session will determine who takes pole position. Until now, only one 15-minute qualifying session was organized in each category, the Hyperpole format being reserved for the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The LMGT3 technical regulations were also approved, with the focus on gentlemen drivers and private teams on the sporting side.
