A few weeks ago, we revealed that Cadillac would not be doubling its workforce next year. And this afternoon, ahead of the Petit Le Mans, the closing round of the IMSA SportsCar Championship, Mark Stielow confirmed the news.

“We are going to have one car in the FIA WEC next year, mainly due to cost constraints of this platform" he said. "At the end of the day we all have to go to our boards to get budgets approved. We have to make tough decisions sometimes."

However, the American team has been working on this, and Stielow admits that " It’s definitely better to have two cars for the full season."

In IMSA, we're also heading for two cars, one for Cadillac Racing and one for Action Express Racing. But there's a good chance that a third V-Series.R will take part in the 24 Hours of Daytona, or even in the other "key endurance races".
