Algarve Pro Racing Claim Pole for 4 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps

Alex Lynn set the fastest lap of the 15-minute qualifying session, lapping the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in 2m03.564 in the no25 Algarve Pro Racing Oreca to claim the team’s first pole of the 2023 season.

 

The no22 United Autosports USA Oreca with Phil Hanson at the wheel made the early pace but a track limit violation meant the deletion of an early fast lap.The British driver bounced back to claim second place on the grid with a 2m03.672, just 0.108s behind.

 

The second row will be headed by the no28 IDEC Sport Oreca with Laurents Hörr posting a 2m03.789, four tenths ahead of the fourth placed car, the championship leading no30 Duqueine Team Oreca driven by Rene Binder.

 

LMP2 Pro/Am: Four from Four for Racing Team Turkey

 

Salih Yoluc took his fourth pole position of the 2023 season, the no34 Racing Team Turkey Oreca-Gibson lapping the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in 2m05.221, fending off a determined challenge by Giorgio Roda in the no99 Proton Competition Oreca by six tenths.

 

Belgian driver Tom Van Rompuy will start on the second row in the no3 DKR Engineering Oreca-Gibson and the no37 COOL Racing Oreca will line up alongside on the grid for the 4 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps.

 

LMP3: Oscar Tunjo Secures Second 2023 ELMS Pole for WTM by Rinaldi Racing

 

Columbian Oscar Tunjo dominated qualifying in Belgium, securing pole position for tomorrow’s race with a 2m10.554 in the no12 WTM by Rinaldi Racing Duqueine-Nissan, over seven tenths ahead of his nearest rival.

 

Second place on the LMP3 grid was taken by the no8 Team Virage Ligier driven by Portuguese driver Manuel Espirito-Santo with a 2m11.285 lap, 0.345 ahead of Ryan Harper-Ellam in the no7 Nielsen Racing Ligier.

 

Row two of the LMP3 grid will be completed by the no10 Eurointernational Ligier, with Championship leader Marcos Siebert in the no17 COOL Racing Ligier in 5thwith a 2m11.978 lap time.

 

LMGTE: Championship Leader Hardwick Claims Debut ELMS Pole

 

Ryan Hardwick took his first ELMS pole in the no16 Proton Competition Porsche with a 2m17.385 lap, 0.654s ahead of the rest of the 12 car LMGTE field.

The no72 TF Sport Aston Martin will line up second on the grid for the 4 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, with Arnold Robin challenging hard for the top spot but was unable to go better than 2m18.039 around the 7.0039km circuit.

 

The second row is headed by the no66 JMW Motorsport Ferrari, with the no44 GMB Motorsport Aston Martin Vantage alongside.

 

The 4 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps will be held tomorrow, with the green flag at 11h30.
