1,341 km for the Isotta Fraschini Tipo 6 LMH Competizione at MotorLand
Isotta Fraschini's testing resumed after the summer break, with the Milanese manufacturer back to Motorland Aragón for its third time in 2023. In Spain it was able to carry out its first night outing and important work to improve the headlight setting. But then the rain on the third day allowed to evaluate the car for the first time also on damp asphalt, a certanly helpful occasion since it is essential to carefully study all these conditions to prepare for a 24-hour marathon. At the end of the three days, the car completed 251 laps for a total of 1341 kilometers.
For this test, with increasingly longer sessions aiming to simulate a whole race, the Michelotto Engineering team that designed and is developing the Tipo 6 LMH Competizione for Isotta Frschini brought to Spain three drivers: the two experts Marco Bonanomi and Jean-Karl Vernay and also Matteo Malucelli, who already drove in Alcañiz in the past to replace the injured Bonanomi. The three worked very well together, taking turns on the car and giving useful opinions to improve the car in several aspects.
Claudio Berro, Motorsport Director of Isotta Fraschini : « We expected three days of intense testing, and so it was. Apart from a small electronic problem on the first day, the tests developed very well. We had very variable conditions, as you normally find in endurance racing. Heat, sun, night, rain... everything needed to temper and consolidate an car studied for long distance races. We are therefore satisfied with the kilometers traveled in all these conditions, another important step for the developing the car. Great work by the team and the drivers ».
