There has been a small change in the entry list for the 6 Hours of Fuji (September 10). Tom Blomqvist is no longer driving the #23 United Autosports Oreca 07, which was not the case in the previous version. The Briton was replaced by Ben Hanley, who had already been requisitioned for Spa and Monza in the #22 car due to a clash of dates with IMSA.

But this time, there is no clash of dates with the American championship. So, while nothing is official at the time of writing, it's a safe bet that Blomqvist will contest the 2023 IndyCar season finale, held on the same day at Laguna Seca. A series in which he will contest the entire forthcoming campaign with the Pataskala-based team.

If this news is confirmed, we can assume that Blomqvist will take the wheel of the #60 Dallara DW12-Honda normally reserved for Simon Pagenaud, who has been convalescing since his violent crash at Mid-Ohio on July 1.

This would mean that the Poitevin driver has not received the go-ahead from the IndyCar Series doctors to take the wheel again before the end of the season. It remains to be seen what will happen next, as Meyer Shank Racing has not yet confirmed him for 2024.

The Endurance Info editorial team would like to take this opportunity to wish Simon Pagenaud a speedy recovery.
