Launched last year by Gunnar Jeannette and PJ Hyett, the AO Racing team is running a double programme this season, each time in the Porsche camp. A 911 RSR is entered in the WEC and a 911 GT3 R in the IMSA GTD class.

The team has been quick to make a name for itself, not least in terms of its livery. At the end of the week, Gunnar Jeannette and PJ Hyett will share the wheel of the pink #80 Porsche 911 GT3 R, nicknamed Roxy. In the WEC, green is the predominant colour with Rexy, whose technical side is supported by Project 1.

In 2024, AO Racing is set to step up a gear with a double entry in IMSA, combining LMP2 and GTD PRO to take on the big boys in the GT3 category. Seb Priaulx, a Multimatic driver, is due to rejoin in 2024.

AO Racing has already taken possession of an Oreca 07 from PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports. A first test will take place before the summer with Harry Tincknell at the wheel on the Road America circuit.

Contacted by Endurance-Info, Gunnar Jeannette is already looking forward to 2024: "AO Racing is delighted to be moving up to LMP2 and GTD Pro. We want to feel like we're racing against our peers, which isn't the case at the moment in GTD. Racing in the Pro class as well as the LMP2 category will give us the opportunity to fight for both championships, and we can't wait to see what the year has in store for us."
