The Tipo 6 Competizione takes to the Italian racetracks in one test session after another. After Vallelunga, the LMH made by Michelotto was last week at Monza, a track visited by the WEC at the beginning of July. Entrusted to Marco Bonanomi and Jean-Karl Vernay, it completed no fewer than 98 laps of the Autodromo di Monza, a total of 550km.

At the end of the morning, during a 12-lap stint on soft tyres, the Isotta Fraschini completed a lap in 1'35''622. This time would have enabled it to start fourth on the grid for the 6 Hours of Monza. This comparison is for information purposes only, but it is difficult to interpret. The track provides good grip and the Tipo 6 Competizione has not yet passed through the hands of the FIA and therefore has not yet been subjected to the BoP process. But it is nonetheless encouraging.

"From my point of view, a very positive test because we made good progress in understanding the car, both from the mechanical point of view and the various systems cooperation", Marco Bonanomi said. "I'm happy also because I managed to do more laps than in Vallelunga, even if I'm still not 100% yet with my hand and wrist. I felt better in the car, a good thing."

Unfortunately, a lubricant leak caused a fire in the engine compartment at the end of Saturday, 5 August, and that event damaged several wiring. As a precaution, the car returned to the workshop for all necessary checks and decided to cancel the session scheduled for this week. The next session is scheduled for early September at MotorLand-Aragon in Spain.
