On the heels of last weekend’s schedule announcements, IMSA today announced that full-season entry applications for the 2024 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship will open on Tuesday, Aug. 8.

Teams planning to participate in any of the four competing classes – GTP, LMP2, GTD PRO and GTD – may begin submitting entry applications for the full WeatherTech Championship season or the IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup season starting on Tuesday. Entry applications for teams wishing to compete in individual 2024 WeatherTech Championship events will open on Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2023.

Both full-season entries and entries for the 2024 Rolex 24 At Daytona will close on Tuesday, Oct. 3. IMSA plans to reveal the entry list for teams competing in the full 2024 WeatherTech Championship schedule as part of the IMSA State of the Sport presentation on Thursday, Oct. 12 during the Motul Petit Le Mans event weekend at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta.

“As we experienced coming into the 2023 season, we expect to see an increase in entries for all four WeatherTech Championship classes,” said IMSA President John Doonan. “All indications are that we will once again receive more entries than we will be able to accommodate. Opening the entry process now enables competitors to better plan for next season and also gives us an opportunity to review and build our entry list much earlier than in previous years.”

Driver applications for the 2024 season will open on Tuesday, Sept. 5. All drivers planning to compete in the full WeatherTech Championship season or the Rolex 24 At Daytona must submit their applications no later than Tuesday, Nov. 7.

The 2024 WeatherTech Championship kicks off with the Roar Before the Rolex 24 on the weekend of Jan. 19-21, with the 62nd Rolex 24 At Daytona opening the racing season on Jan. 25-28.

Entry applications for the 2024 IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge and IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge will open following the conclusion of the 2023 season.
