On March 7, a certain Max Verstappen was at the Circuit Paul Ricard to witness the first day of the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Official Tests.

The Red Bull F1 driver was there as a tourist to follow the debut of Thierry Vermeulen, son of Raymond, his manager, who was beginning his collaboration with Emil Frey Racing on a Ferrari 296 GT3 supported by Verstappen.com.

The two-time F1 world champion has never hidden his intention to explore new categories in the future, and endurance racing is clearly one of his plans. We've already seen him on track at the Virtual 24 Hours of Le Mans, although there's a good chance he won't be back there again after the problems during the last edition.

In an exclusive interview with Dutch media outlet F1.nl, Max Verstappen explains that he wants to create his own GT3 racing team by 2025. The plan is to create a team rather than support an existing one.

Judging the karting formula to be too expensive, Max Verstappen is aiming for a structure capable of starting with sim racing all the way up to the top-level GT3 category. The Redline simulator driver hopes one day to take part in the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

What will be the programme of this team led by Max Verstappen? With which car manufacturer ? Will we see him behind the wheel? It's still too early to say, but after Valentino Rossi, Max Verstappen could well be the next attraction in the GT3 world.
