R&B’s Olsen sets the pace in second practice Motegi
Dennis Olsen set two laps quick enough for top spot in Friday’s second Official Practice session at Motegi.
R&B Racing’s Porsche recorded both times within the space of three laps towards the end of the hour-long session. And it was the Norwegian’s second – 1m50.911s – that was also the fastest of the weekend so far following Thursday’s two test sessions.
Luca Stolz was next up in Triple Eight JMR’s Mercedes-AMG, although the German – who briefly spent time at the top just after half distance – ultimately finished five tenths down on Olsen.
Absolute Racing’s Matteo Cairoli set the pace this morning and finished third in the afternoon ahead of team-mate Alessio Picariello. The two 911s were separated by just over a tenth.
Two more Mercedes-AMG completed the top-six, Maximilian Goetz’s Craft-Bamboo example edging out Broc Feeney in the second Triple Eight JMR entry.
Qualifying begins at 10:25 local time tomorrow. Watch it live on SRO’s GT World YouTube channel.
