The sun was out on the Circuit de la Sarthe at the end of the day for this Hyperpole session reserved for 8 competitors in each category.

The Ferrari 499Ps set the pace from the very first lap : Pier Guidi in 3:23.897, Fuoco in 3:24.198. On their very first lap, the Italian prototypes challenged the 2022 time of 3:24.408.

The rest was a lone show for the Reds. Even when hampered on his fastest lap by a GTE-Am, Antonio Fuoco kept at bay everybody, improving by almost 1 second to 3:22.982, 773 thousandths faster than Pier Guidi's #51. For the first time since 2016, there will be no Toyota on pole.

No one was able to beat the fastest lap of the #51 in a session, interrupted by a fire in the Cadillac V-Series.R of Sébastien Bourdais, which had just placed the #3 in 3rd place at 1.926s. Causing the red flag dropped the American #3 LMDh to 8th with the 5th fastest time.

Toyota Gazoo Racing had a bad day, with the best performance coming from Brendon Hartley, who conceded 1.469s to the poleman to take 3rd place, ahead of Felipe Nasr's Porsche 963, which only took to the track at the end of the session after the Cadillac caught fire.

Fifth place went to Kobayashi's Toyota at 1.951s, ahead of Fred Mako's Porsche and Sébastien Bourdais's Cadillac.

Pole for IDEC Sport Racing in LMP2 thanks to Paul-Loup Chatin in 3:32.923. A fine performance for a team that is currently up to the pace at the moment. Pietro Fittipaldi's Oreca 07/Jota will also start from the 1st row in LMP2. Louis Delétraz placed the Oreca 07/Team WRT in 3rd.

On his Hyperpole debut, Reshad De Gérus showed he's a force to be reckoned with after his ELMS pole in Barcelona, by claiming 4th place for COOL Racing. Prema (Bortolotti), Nielsen Racing (Hanley), Prema (Viscaal) and Vector Sport (Aubry) completed the top 8.

Unsurprisingly, pole in GTE-Am for the Corvette C8.R, fastest car on track thanks to Ben Keating in 3:53.092. Ahmad Al Harthy took 2nd place in the Aston Martin Vantage GTE/ORT by TF.

The second row was 100% Ferrari and AF Corse with Thomas Flohr and Julien Piguet, who set a very good laptime. The same goes for the third row, with two Ferrari 488 GTEs: Perez Companc (Richard Mille AF Corse) and Kimura (Kessel Racing). GMB Motorsport and Kessel Racing complete the GTE-Am standings.
