Le Mans 24 Hours - Porsche on top in night FP2
The last session of the day, held at night, was dominated by the Porsche 963 #6 - Porsche Penske Motorsport of Laurens Vanthoor - Kévin Estre - André Lotterer.
With a time of 3'28"878, thanks to Laurens Vanthoor, the German LMDh rounded off a day that was clearly a disappointment, with the trio failing to qualify for Hyperpole.
The Ferrari 499P #51 of Alessandro Pier Guidi - Antonio Giovinazzi - James Calado finished second at 0"347. Dane Cameron - Frédéric Makowiecki - Michael Christensen (Porsche 963 #5) completed the top three, four tenths off the pace.
The first Toyota GR010 Hybrid #7 of Kamui Kobayashi - José Maria Lopez - Mike Conway was 5th ahead of the Porsche 963 #38 - Hertz Team JOTA of Will Stevens - Yifei Ye - Antonio Felix da Costa. The customer Porsche, which suffered a hybrid problem in qualifying, completed 27 laps in today's second free practice session.
Renger van der Zande placed the first Cadillac V-Series.R #3 - Cadillac Racing in 10th position. 13th and 14th places for the Peugeot 9X8s.
Prema Racing dominated the LMP2 session, with the #63 Oreca 07 of Mirko Bortolotti (fastest lap) - Doriane Pin - Daniil Kvyat, clocking 3'36"863.
Filipe Albuquerque - Phil Hanson - Frederick Lubin (Oreca 07 #22 - United Autosports) took second place ahead of the #28 - JOTA car of Fittipaldi - Heinemeier-Hansson - Rasmussen. Tom Blomqvist - Josh Pierson - Oliver Jarvis (Oreca 07 n°23 - United Autosports) and the trio de Wilde - Martin - von Rompuy (Oreca 07 n°43 - DKR Engineering) (first in LMP2 Pro-Am) complete the top 5.
Daniel Serra - Kei Cozzolino - Takeshi Kimura (Ferrari 488 GTE #57 - Kessel Racing) set the fastest time in GTE Am in 3'53"796 at the very end of the session.
