Tristan Vautier replaces Jacques Villeneuve at Vanwall
With just a few days to go before the start of the big week at Le Mans, Floyd Vanwall Racing is reshuffling its line-up for the 24 Hours of Le Mans (June 10-11).
Jacques Villeneuve, who has been driving with Tom Dillmann and Esteban Guerrieri since the season opener at Sebring, will not be competing in the double-header at Le Mans in the Vandervell 680 hypercar.
The 1997 F1 world champion will be replaced in the LMH by Tristan Vautier. The Frenchman, formerly a member of Akkodis-ASP in GT World Challenge Europe and who is competing in the ELMS this season with Algarve Pro Racing, will be making his second consecutive appearance in the Sarthe, having made his debut there last year with ARC Bratislava.
No explanation other than the announcement of the change of drivers was provided by the team. Floyd Vanwall Racing finished eighth in the Hypercar class in the opening round at Sebring, but then suffered back-to-back retirements in Portugal and Belgium.
