There will be four Porsche 963 at the start of the 6 Hours of Monza on July 9. In addition to the two official Porsche Penske Motorsport cars and the Hertz Team JOTA car, Proton Competition will be entering the LMDh Multimatic chassis in the premier class.

This is no great surprise, as Christian Ried's team has long since announced its intention to run the 963 after Le Mans 24 Hours.

For the occasion, the official Porsche driver Gianmaria Bruni will be present on his home ground alongside Harry Tincknell, who has strong links with Multimatic Motorsports. The Briton was part of the Mazda adventure in IMSA.

A total of 13 hypercars will compete in Italy during the summer, in a field of 37 cars.

The other changes in the field concern United Autosports in LM P2, where Giedo van der Garde will replace Tom Blomqvist in the #23 Oreca 07. Ben Hanley will replace Filipe Albuquerque in the #22 sister car. Both of these changes are due to the conflict of dates with IMSA and the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park round.

In Prema, Mirko Bortolotti, who has been retained in the DTM at the Norisring, will give up his place to Mathias Beche.

In GTE Am, the #88 Proton Porsche will not be present due to the team's presence in Hypercar.
