Porsche Motorsport Asia Pacific and Persona Energy announce Technology Transfer Apprenticeship Programme partnership.

Porsche Motorsport Asia Pacific has announced a new partnership with the Technology Transfer Apprenticeship Programme (TTAP), which aims to develop local talent throughout the motorsport industry.

 

TTAP is a platform that helps engineers and technicians work on the international stage through motorsport, and has produced 100 apprentices since its inception three years ago.

 

Alongside Porsche’s regional motorsport office, Porsche Motorsport Asia Pacific, the organisation is now looking to establish a clear ladder for young talent to enter the motor racing world.

 

TTAP also collaborates with United-Kingdom based Team JOTA. The outfit currently compete in the FIA World Endurance Championship (FIA WEC),with Hertz Team JOTA entering a Porsche 963 LMDh driven by Porsche Motorsport Asia Pacific Selected Driver, Ye Yifei.

 

Apprentices involved in the programme have had the opportunity to work alongside highly experienced engineers in FIA WEC over the last two years.

 

Jazeman Jaafar, Founder of TTAP: “We are very proud to expand our wings alongside Porsche Motorsport Asia Pacific. It’s an established name in the motorsport industry and this collaboration is a recognition of our endeavour to develop and contribute to the Malaysian motorsport scene.

 

“As part of our partnership with Porsche, 15 apprentices will get the chance to work with race teams during the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia campaign in Buriram (Aug 4-6), Sepang (Aug 25-27) and in Shanghai (Oct 27-29).

 

“Five lucky individuals will be selected for each round and will receive the opportunity to get involved with Porsche as they aim to take their career to new heights.”

Porsche is committed to supporting the development of motorsport in the region and will do so by placing the apprentices with our teams in the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia as we aim to help them develop. It’s tremendous to be able to play a role in developing the Malaysian motorsport scene and we believe it is the role of brands such as Porsche to do so. It’s incredibly exciting for the apprentices who will be offered the chance to gain experience in our Porsche Carrera Cup Asia garages, which is a great opportunity for them as they look to build up their fledgling careers. We aim to make this the catalyst to help more talents join the motorsport fraternity from the region.”
