The Endurance grandstand and terraces are open to the public at Spa-Francorchamps

The Circuit of Spa-Francorchamps has carried out the inauguration of the new Endurance terraces and grandstand, this Thursday, on the first day of the Free Practice days of the FIA World Endurance Championship – 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps. 

On offer from the new Endurance terraces and grandstand at the Circuit of Spa-Francorchamps is a breathtaking view of La Source up to the start of the Kemmel and passing the legendary Raidillon. After having inaugurated a new  4,600-place grandstand at the top of the Raidillon last year, there are currently 4,100 places and 40 fold-up seats in the PRM area in the covered grandstand and 3,140 places on the terraces for the Circuit’s spectators. The old grandstands and terraces could accommodate 3,700 people, so hosting capacity in this key area of the Circuit is practically doubled. A new box is also integrated into the grandstand that offers an adjustable or modular space in two parts for our B2B customers.

This inauguration took place in the presence of municipal and provincial Authorities, representatives from sporting federations, from the ACO, the WEC and ELMS championships and teams participating in the FIA WEC – 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps.

Amaury Bertholomé, CEO of the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps : “Once again this year, the inauguration of the new Endurance terraces and grandstand, along with a new space for boxes, taking place during the FIA WEC – 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps marks, in a very lovely way, the start of the race season at the Circuit. After the grandstand overlooking the Raidillon, this is a new and exceptional infrastructural facility that will allow the public to discover – free of charge for most of the season – an unobstructed view over the track and also over the  paddocks!

Above all, I must thank the government and local authorities present here today, whose unfailing support must be highlighted, but also all the stakeholders who have contributed to the construction of this infrastructure in a record time of 5 months. And, of course, our teams who have worked so hard at achieving this.

The works carried out over the past two years demonstrate that hosting the public and a wish to offer a world level of excellence for motorsports events are at the very heart of our preoccupations. With our 220 days of activities including 24 weekends of sporting events, national and international championships, the  Circuit of Spa-Francorchamps hoists the colours of Wallonia and Belgium high in the world and reinforces its status as the economic powerhouse of the region.”
