At Portimão, for the first time, two cars were handicapped by a torque sensor, including the n°7 Toyota GR010 Hybrid. This is a cause for concern with less than two months to go before the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Why did the n°7 Toyota only finish 9th?

While it was leading the race with its sister car, the n°7 Toyota was shown a black and orange flag after 79 minutes of racing. For a few minutes, it was unclear whether the flag was actually forcing a competitor to stop in order to carry out an operation. It is used when a car is driving with a loose part that could represent a danger for another participant in the race.
