During the traditional official press conference, the American hit again ! The economy, the retirement age in France and the ecological lobby were some of the topics he reviewed. Here are a few of them...

If he didn't exist, he would have to be invented! In the WEC paddock, Jim Glickenhaus stands out and we won't complain about that. The legend of Le Mans has also been written by such personalities, whimsical but not disconnected from reality, chasing almost unattainable dreams. And yesterday, the cowboy drew his gun again.

"For us, it is really a fantastic journey," he said. "I remember at Le Mans, there used to be the index of performance in addition to first overall et we really try to win the Index of Economic Performance. We spend much less for the result we got than anyone, frankly in motorsport. And it is an issue. There are teams that have spent more money only for testing than we have spent on designing, engineering, building, and racing for 3 years. That's tough."

It is true that with a podium in the 24 Hours of Le Mans and two pole positions in the WEC, the results/investment ratio is quite amazing. "But having said that, we come to work every morning and do our best, " he continued. "We had a pretty good session this morning. It is a tough track for us. It is a high downforce track. Our car really was designed for Le Mans. We think that Spa we'll do pretty well and that Le Mans will be ok. But I think we have a good week-end. We learn a lot and we keep pushing."

After the sports section, the American returned to the current situation worldwide. "There are interesting times economically in the whole world. You have this decision in France about retirement age, and what's happening with that. You have virtual war on ICE cars from politicians. Everyone thinking that only answer is electricity, we feel that hybrogen fuell celsl have a futur. And that's what our company is. We build cars, we sell cars, we like racing here, at the Baja or at the Nürburgring... That's who we are."

A welcome breath of fresh air. Thanks Jim !
