Six weeks before the start of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe season, Leipert Motorsport presents its extensive programme in the series: With five Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo EVO2, the traditional team from Wegberg - supported by MOTUL - will compete in two classes (AM & PRO).

After an impressive year of motorsport in 2022, the team will again be competing in all six events this season, as well as the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe World Final, with a top-class driver line-up.

Driver line-up - a mix of experience and young ambition

In the PRO class, the team will start with two cars. Here, regular driver Brendon Leitch (NZ - #86) and the duo Yury Wagner (LUX - #99) and Patrik Matthiesen (DK - #99) take the wheel. Brendon Leitch is again part of the GT3 line-up of the team from Wegberg this season, driving a double programme consisting of the Michelin Le Mans Cup and the Super Trofeo Europe. Yury Wagner, the 2020 AM champion, will contest his first full season since becoming champion after a guest start last year. The #99 is completed by the young but very experienced Dane Patrik Matthiesen, who is new to the team.

Three Lamborghini and big target in the AM category:

With Gabriel Rindone (ITA - #21), another fast regular driver continues his programme in the AM class. After 2 years in a row as runner-up in the class, the aim this time is to win the title. Like Leitch, Rindone will contest the Michelin Le Mans Cup in addition to the LST-Europe event.

Jürgen Krebs (CH) will be driving the #65 this season. Krebs has already taken part in the Super Trofeo as well as several endurance races with Leipert Motorsport over the last 6 years and is looking forward to his third season in the championship.

Another internationally renowned pairing will pilot the number 88 car, with junior racer Kerong Li (CHN) and Jean-Francois Brunot (USA) sharing the cockpit. Both drivers have already won the 2022 24h Series with Leipert Motorsport and are now looking forward to their second season in the Super Trofeo Europe.

The first round at Imola, scheduled for early May (03-07.05.23), was postponed this week to later in the year due to delayed renovation work on the circuit. This means the season opener will take place at Paul Ricard at the end of May. The LST Europe continues with stops at Imola, Valencia and the Nürburgring. A highlight of the season is the start in the supporting programme of the 24-hour race on the Spa-Francorchamps Ardennes rollercoaster at the end of June. The world final of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo will be held in Vallelunga (IT) in mid-November.

Managing Directors Marcel Leipert and Marc Poos:

"It is fantastic to be represented in the LST Europe with five cars for the third year in a row. We are happy and proud about the trust placed in us, which reflects the continuity and cohesion in the team and as a motorsport family for years. The Lamborghini Super Trofeo is the ideal platform for both young up-and-coming drivers and ambitious gentleman drivers. We have a very good mix of young and experienced drivers and want to fight for the championship title in both classes. The conditions for this are very good and we can hardly wait for the season to start at Paul Ricard."
