Porsche Motorsport Asia Pacific Selected Driver Yifei Ye is back on track this weekend with Hertz Team JOTA, as the FIA World Endurance Championship heads to Autodromo do Algarve for Round 2 of the 2023 season.

he Chinese driver got his WEC campaign off to an excellent start in the season opener at Sebring last month, helping the team to LMP2 class victory in Florida. He will be joined in the car this weekend by home hero António Félix Da Costa and David Beckmann.

The championship now travels to Europe and the south of Portugal, to take on the undulating 4.653-kilometre track. Better known as Portimao, the circuit returns to the WEC calendar for 2023 and features challenging elevation changes that make it a drivers’ favourite. Following the event at Portimao, Ye’s attention will turn to the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, as he prepares to tackle the Rookie Test in Berlin on 24 April, where he will drive the Porsche 99X Electric for TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team.

Meanwhile, in Asia, GT Super Sprint Challenge gets its 2023 campaign underway with a visit to the Shanghai International Circuit. Lin Weixiong will take to the track in the #233 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport.

Yifei Ye, Porsche Motorsport Asia Pacific Selected Driver: “It’s been a really good start to the 2023 season for everyone at Hertz Team JOTA and after winning the opening race my motivation is even higher as we head to Portimao. It’s a track that both the team and I have performed well on in the past, so we’ll hope to continue those records. We have to keep improving every race in this series as the competition is so strong, but we’re excited for the challenge of fighting at the front again.”

Alexandre Gibot, Managing Director Porsche Motorsport Asia Pacific Ltd.: “Yifei got his WEC campaign off to a brilliant start in the 1000 Miles of Sebring and we are all excited to see what he can do this weekend in Portimao. He’s settled in well with Hertz Team JOTA and together they are developing strongly for the year ahead.
