Isotta Fraschini had planned the first drive of its Hypercar prototype at Vallelunga several weeks ago. The Tipo 6 LMH Competizione was on track at Vallelunga (north of Rome) where two days of tests are organised.

As expected on the first day of testing for the Isotta Fraschini Tipo 6 LMH Competizione on the Vallelunga track (north of Rome), the focus was on roughing up the car and collecting data to continue development. In the morning the car worked powered by the heat engine alone, to test it correctly, while the hybrid part was also activated in the afternoon. Also present on the track were the representatives of the Vector Sport team, which will manage the car on the race track.

Driving the Isotta Fraschini Tipo 6 LMH Competizione on the track for the first time was the Michelotto Engineering test driver Maurizio Mediani, who had also dealt with the development of the car on the simulator, in order to compare the sensations and also be able to improve the informatics counterpart. The car ran sessions of length that increased from 1 to 3, then to 5 and up to 8 consecutive laps. Each stop was scheduled to make measurements and verify that what was seen in the wind tunnel and then on the 4wd test bench had been correctly transferred to the car, then the electrical part was also activated later in the day and tested in order to modify its parameters and understand how these affects the reactions of the vehicle.

"Seeing our car on its wheels on the track for the first time is obviously something exciting for everyone, starting with the technicians who built the car," said Claudio Berro, Isotta Fraschini's managing director. "It was a great moment for everyone because everything went according to plan with stops to adjust the settings and analyse the data. I have to say that with the last few laps of the day with the hybrid system on, the first day is satisfying."

Gary Holland, Vector Sport's Principal Team, was of course present in Vallelunga: "We are now looking forward to seeing the performance and hopefully getting the car ready for homologation before a race-by-race entry before the end of the year. I hope the ACO can see our efforts and guarantee us an entry, which will allow us to compete against the other LMH teams."
