Vincent Abril to race at Barcelona in the Michelin Le Mans Cup with Iron Lynx
Vincent Abril will be back in the driver's seat of a GT3 car in ten days' time for the inaugural round of the 2023 Michelin Le Mans Cup at the catalan circuit of Barcelona-Montmelo.
Although no full schedule has yet been announced for 2023, the Monegasque will be taking part in the Iron Lynx team as a substitute for Leonardo Pulcini (who will compete in GT World Challenge Europe in Monza) in the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO 2, alongside Hiroshi Hamaguchi.
“I’m happy to announce I will join Iron Lynx for the opening MLMC race in Barcelona, said Abril. As a well-respected team who have raced at Le Mans and are known to be a very professional outlet, I am excited to join them for this selected event and will do the best possible job in a new car, team, and series. I am eager to get started and happy to get back behind the wheel with my teammate Hiroshi. I’d also like to take this moment to thank Iron Lynx for the opportunity."
Vincent Abril had announced a few days ago on social networks that discussions with a manufacturer for 2023 had not been successful, leaving him without a seat a few days before the major GT3 championships resume. But logically, the wait was not long for the former Bentley Motorsport driver.
