Rutronik Racing announces driver trio for the GT World Challenge
Rutronik Racing already released some GT3 racing news at the beginning of the year. The Nürburgring Endurance Series and the Fanatec GT World Challenge Powered by AWS are in the sights of the successful team from Wilferdingen, Germany, in 2023. Well-known titles and victories have been achieved in recent years. Now Rutronik Racing is attacking with a brand new Porsche 911 GT3R.
The driver trio appointed in the Fanatec GT World Challenge Powered by AWS Endurance Cup promises a successful debut for the Remchinger team. With the Austrian factory driver Thomas Preining, the team has secured a talent who was able to record a number of successes in the DTM last year. In 2022, for example, he ensured the first Porsche victory in the championship. Contract driver Dennis Olsen is an endurance veteran and has demonstrated his skills in numerous challenges.
In 2019, the Norwegian not only won the drivers' championship of the International GT Challenge, but also the 12-hour race in Bathurst. The trio is completed by Laurin Heinrich, who most recently made a name for himself as the 2022 Porsche Carrera Cup Germany Champion and is now looking for a new challenge in the GT3 environment.
Fabian Plentz, Team Principal Rutronik Racing: “I am very happy and proud to be able to officially announce this program today. The tree has been planted and now it is up to everyone involved to harvest the fruits. The entire team is motivated down to their fingertips and can hardly wait for the start of the season. At this point, many thanks to all partners who are accompanying us on this new journey.”
Klaus Graf, Sporting Director: “With our driver line-up for the GT World Endurance Championship, we at Rutronik Racing are very well positioned for the very strong competition in the PRO category. Dennis and Thomas are permanent fixtures in the Porsche driver squad. With Laurin we have a highly talented young man as the perfect match. All three drivers have already been announced as drivers in other GT3 programs, which represents additional added value for us in the learning phase with the new Porsche 992 GT3R.”
