Garage 59 takes on its biggest season of racing yet

Garage 59 makes its return to the Pro Class of GT World Challenge Europe in 2023, running the reigning Silver Cup Champion Benji Goethe, alongside Garage 59 regular Nicolai Kjærgaard and McLaren factory racer, Marvin Kirchhöfer. For the Sprint Cup races, Goethe will pair with Kjærgaard.

“I’m very excited about the upcoming GT World Challenge season with Garage 59,” said Goethe. “It’s a great challenge for me to be racing in the Pro category with a new team and a new car and I can’t wait to get started.”

Reigning GT World Challenge Europe Overall and Sprint Cup Pro-Am Champion, Miguel Ramos, returns to the team to race in the Bronze Cup class, alongside his long-time team mate Henrique Chaves and Louis Prette, who joined the team for Asian Le Mans this year. The Sprint Cup pairing will be Ramos and Chaves.

“I’m really looking forward to driving with Garage 59 again, this time in GT World Challenge,” said Prette. “It has been a steep learning curve for me with both the team and the car in Asian Le Mans and I feel confident about the coming season. Henrique and Miguel were my competitors throughout the 2020 season and it was tight all season long. They are both very good drivers and I’m happy to have them with me rather than against me this time! With this line-up we definitely have a shot at the championship and this is our target.”

Garage 59 will once again run a McLaren 720S GT3 for Sky Tempesta, who will field Eddie Cheever, Chris Froggatt and Jonathan Hui in the Bronze Cup category in the Endurance Cup.

TWO GARAGE 59 MCLARENS FOR BRITISH GT

After racing one of its McLarens at the Silverstone British GT round in 2022, Garage 59 has committed to a full season, two-car entry for 2023. Alexander West has teamed up with Marvin Kirchhöfer is what will be a very strong line-up, while Sky Tempesta has lined-up another strong duo with Chris Froggatt and Kevin Tse.

“British GT is a new challenge for me,” said Kirchhöfer. “It’s always exciting for a driver to get out on tracks that you are not familiar with and I will be doing a lot of that as I only know Silverstone and Brands Hatch. Alex has shown some very strong performances so I hope we can challenge for wins. I think we showed in the Silverstone 500 last year that we have the pace as we came very close to winning that race. I think we should have a good season!"

“I’m also super excited to be back in GT World Challenge, especially in this fully Pro line-up with Benji and Nicolai. They’ve both shown great pace so I think we have a competitive line-up and I hope we can go out there and fight at the front.”

The team will be on track at Paul Ricard next week for the GT World Challenge Europe Official Test Days
