The Asian Le Mans Series sporting regulations were amended this morning at 10:38 am (at the end of the private practice session) regarding the driving time in GT for the 2 driver crew.

The only team this season is Hub Auto Racing, with a Mercedes-AMG GT3 for Liam Talbot (Bronze) and Jules Gounon (Platinum). The sporting regulations stipulated a minimum driving time of 1h30 min for the Bronze and 1h30 min for the Platinum. On paper, the tandem of the #72 Mercedes clearly had a good chance for a second GT title for Hub Auto Racing, as the Frenchman could drive, in accordance with the regulations, 2h30.

An official bulletin now specifies that following a typographical error, it is no longer 1h30 mini for the Platinum but 1h15 maxi, which changes the deal considerably. The typographical error may seem strange knowing that the rules are identical to the past seasons.

There are two possible solutions: make the Bronze run for 2h45 (out of 4h), which is a lot and removes any hope of a good result, or find a Silver driver to complete the crew.

The #72 Mercedes-AMG GT3 still hasn't taken the track during the first free practice session after one hour of driving.
