Proton Competition reveals the first full driver line up for the upcoming ELMS Season, entering the 2023 Championship with its first LMP2 car in PRO AM category.

Gianmaria Bruni, Giorgio Roda and Jonas Ried are set to begin this new and exciting challenge as well as for Proton Competition to write this new chapter in its long motorsport history.

Jonas Ried: To drive a LMP2 car with Proton Competition during the 2023 ELMS season is a dream come true. I am very much looking forward to this new experience. Sharing the car with Gimmi and Giorgio is also very special to me because I've watched them racing since I was a child and it feels great to be their teammate today. I'm sure we'll have a great season together. A big thank you to the Proton Competition Team and my family for this opportunity.

Giorgio Roda: First of all I would like to thank Christian Ried for asking me to join the Team for their first full program in LMP2. The fact that ELMS 2023 will be the first LMP2 appearance for Proton Competition gives me a lot of motivation. This is a new project for both the team and myself, and an exciting challenge considering my past experience in formula racing and most of it with GTs. The car is different from what I’m used to, but I’m sure we can do well in the championship with a strong line up with Gimmi and Jonas. It’s also really nice to go back to the ELMS after winning the LMGTE title in 2018 with Proton Competition, so let’s see what 2023 will bring to us!

Gimmi Bruni: I'm very happy to continue my journey into the prototype cars with Proton Competition. I'm also very happy to run the ELMS season with Jonas and Giorgio in the PRO AM category on board of the LMP2 car. I'm looking forward for the next test right after the Rolex24 race.
