Who is behind Floyd, partner of Vanwall Racing Team?

The Vanwall Racing team, which has been awaited for a year, has finally been included in the World Endurance Championship entry list. The Austrian manufacturer does not come alone because the complete entity of the engagement in WEC is Floyd Vanwall Racing Team. Of course, this commitment will only be effective once the Vanwall Vandervell 680 is homologated. Jacques Villeneuve, Tom Dillmann and Esteban Guerrieri are confirmed to be in the car.

ByKolles, who was responsible for the technical support of the ENSO CLM P1/01 in the past, is still responsible for the technical support of the Hypercar prototype. For his return to the WEC in the main class, Colin Kolles does not come alone. Floyd, who was already involved in the virtual racing world with ByKolles, becomes the title partner in the real world.

What is Floyd? The brand has absolutely nothing to do with motorsport and cars in general. Floyd was inspired by the early days of California skateboard culture and the iconic style of Venice Beach, California. Floyd travel cases on wheels feature an authentic version of the polyurethane wheels that made skateboarding a triumph in the 1970s.

At the same time, two Bavarian teenagers spent their days skateboarding in the streets of their village. Bernd Georgi and Horst Kern pursued a life in the fashion world, both in South Africa and Hong Kong. In 1996 they founded their own company, producing high quality accessories and luggage for major brands around the world.
