Just because the Mercedes-AMG GT3 entered by SunEnergy 1 by Akkodis ASP is several weeks behind the competition in the GTD class for the 24 Hours of Daytona doesn't mean that it can't be in contention for the win.

Kenny Habul, the initiator of the program, will be of course at the wheel of the Mercedes in Florida. The Australian entrepreneur will be doing his utmost to make up for the January 2021 performance which ended in retirement, together with Fabian Schiller, Raffaele Marciello and Luca Stolz.

Kenny Habul will be reunited with Fabian Schiller in the Mercedes in less than three weeks time. The third man is be Axcil Jefferies. The Zimbabwean is a regular in the Mercedes-AMG GT3 in various championships. He will be competing in the Dubai 24 Hours next week with Fabian Schiller for Al Manor Racing by HRT.

The final driver will be announced shortly. We already know it won't be Raffaele Marciello as the official Mercedes-AMG driver will be racing in the LMP2 category for High Class Racing.

The weeks are going to go by for Akkodis ASP at the beginning of the year. Jérôme Policand's team will be setting off on a 19-day journey. One week after the 24 Hours of Daytona, Akkodis ASP will be at the start of the 12 Hours of Bathurst, again with Kenny Habul.
