If you take into account the number of races during 2022, it's a safe bet that Inception Racing will be in the top tier. The British team managed by Optimum Motorsport has been involved in campaigns all over the world. Between the Dubai 24 Hours, Asian Le Mans Series, GT World Challenge Europe, WEC and IMSA, Inception Racing has been busy since January and 2023 looks set to be another busy season.

The full IMSA programme in the GTD class will be favoured by Brendan Iribe, the driver behind Inception Racing. The American entrepreneur will start his 2023 campaign with the 24 Hours of Daytona in the McLaren 720S GT3 with Frederik Schandorff, Ollie Millroy and Marvin Kirchhöfer.

Appearances at other races on the American continent cannot be ruled out, although the team will not be taking part in a full programme.

Optimum Motorsport will not forget Europe with two McLaren 720S GT3s expected in GT World Challenge Europe (Endurance) and two in the International GT Open. Two McLaren Artura GT4s are confirmed in British GT and two in the McLaren Trophy, the new championship that will accompany GT World Challenge Europe.

Unlike this year, there are no plans to enter the WEC under the name of Inception Racing, but it is not out of the question that Brendan Iribe will start the Le Mans 24 Hours in June 2023. After Kessel Racing, Inception Racing has joined forces with Team Project 1 this year in the GTE-Am.

"We've had a lot of work to do this year," Bas Leinders, the British team's sporting director, told Endurance-Info. "We are fortunate to have a very good and stable team. The staff who were there in 2021 were still there this year and will be there next year. This is also the strength of Optimum Motorsport."

With GT3s coming to Le Mans in 2024, Inception Racing would like to return to Le Mans, although Bas Leinders knows that the task will not be easy: "Returning to Le Mans in 2024 will not be easy because many teams will want to be at the start and we don't know how many places will be reserved for GTs."
