JDC-Miller MotorSports is looking forward to its Porsche 963
JDC-Miller MotorSports is one of three teams to run a Porsche 963 next season in IMSA. While Porsche Penske Motorsport will make its debut at next month's 24 Hours of Daytona, Proton Competition and JDC-Miller MotorSports will have to wait longer, probably until the end of April. The best we can hope for is to see JDC-Miller in a Porsche 963 from the Laguna Seca meeting in mid-May.
Church & Company is not idle while waiting for its Hypercar prototype. The Minnesota-based team has been involved in testing the Porsche.
"The results have been very positive," said team boss John Church. "Our engineering group and mechanics were able to see everything that was going on, ask any questions we might have and get straight answers. It was an open book. It's a big picture where you have to get to know the car and the systems, understand why things work the way they do. At this point, it's more about going for miles than going fast. The 36-hour trial has been very encouraging."
John Church will now have to take it easy: "It's a bit frustrating to have to wait, but we are making the most of it. We have the support of Porsche and Penske. We don't have a firm delivery date for the car. We won't have the car for the 24 Hours of Daytona. It is possible that we will be at Sebring, although at the moment it is not planned. All I can say for sure is that we will run it as soon as we get it."
The drivers have not been confirmed but it would be logical to find Tristan Vautier, JDC-Miller MotorSports driver in recent seasons in the Cadillac DPi of John Church's team. The name of Tijmen van der Helm is also frequently mentioned.
JDC Miller MotorSports will be at Daytona next month in the Michelin Pilot Challenge with an Audi RS3 LMS TCR. That's not all, as a Duqueine D08 is confirmed for the Florida double-header and the rest of the IMSA season.
