On February 14, Daniil Kvyat was confirmed for the WEC season in an Oreca 07 with the G-Drive colours. But the war between Russia and Ukraine unfortunately scuppered the deal, as the former F1 driver was expected to drive alongside René Binder and James Allen.

The 28-year-old Kvyat could finally make his LMP2 debut next season. The former Red Bull driver was recently caught testing twice in a Prema Racing Oreca 07.

"Endurance racing has always fascinated me and competing in the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans - one of the most famous and prestigious races in the world - is a dream for any driver," said Kvyat in February.

Daniil Kvyat, who was announced to be joining SMP Racing in 2020 and then G-Drive Racing in 2022, may finally get his first taste of endurance racing in 2023 after several races in the NASCAR Cup Series and NASCAR Xfinity Series this year. And if he is indeed at the wheel of one of two Prema Racing's Oreca 07s, then we can bet that he will have the tools to fight for the win.
