The 23rd NISMO Festival highlights this year's hottest racing cars
Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. (Nissan) and Nissan Motorsports & Customizing Co., Ltd. (NMC) today announce the outline for the 23rd NISMO Festival. The fan appreciation event will be held at Fuji Speedway in Shizuoka Prefecture on December 4.
This year's NISMO Festival will feature the Nissan Z GT500, which debuted in SUPER GT this season and won the series championship, netting Nissan its first GT500 title in seven years. A SUPER GT championship ceremony will be held to commemorate this achievement.
Takao Katagiri, head of Nissan's Motorsports Business Unit and president of NMC, says: "This year, Nissan teams won the series championships in both the GT500 and GT300 classes of the SUPER GT. We are grateful to all of our fans who gave their strong support throughout the year. The entire team hopes to share this joy with everyone at the NISMO Festival. In addition, we have prepared a number of other events to make the 23rd festival even more exciting. We hope you will come and enjoy the NISMO brand to the fullest.”
The Nissan Z GT4* — which is gaining global attention — and other Z race cars from Japan and abroad will also be on display and perform demonstration runs. In addition, a memorial exhibition and other events will take place to commemorate racing legend Kunimitsu Takahashi, who achieved many brilliant results for Nissan.
To celebrate the resumption of the annual NISMO Festival after a two-year absence, items and vehicles from past events — including a 1990s race car that competed in the 24 Hours of Le Mans and a Group A specification Skyline GT-R (R32) — will also be showcased.
For fans who can’t attend in person, the festival will be streamed live online on the official NISMO YouTube channel.
