With the GTE Pro living its final season, the question was whether Corvette would agree to put a so-called "amateur" driver at the wheel of a C8.R to continue the adventure in the World Endurance Championship.

Endurance-Info gave you the answer on 30 September (see HERE), and it is now official.

In addition to the entry of a C8.R in the IMSA GTD Pro class for Jordan Taylor-Antonio Garcia (supported on the long distance races by Tommy Milner), a car will be entered in the WEC GTE Am class for Ben Keating and Nicky Catsburg.

“I’ve really wanted to race a Corvette for a long time and have been chipping away at this to make this happen because I want to race what I sell, Keating said. This is something I’ve been dreaming of for a long time. There’s just something special about the 100th anniversary of Le Mans, the last year of GTE-spec cars and something special with an American driver racing for an American team. I’m excited that when – not if! – we win a race that we will hear the U.S. National Anthem. I haven’t had that because I’ve driven for British and German teams. So this will be awesome."

It remains to be seen who the third man will be.
