The story between TDS Racing and the United States began in 2012 with the Petit Le Mans, with a fourth place finish with a victory in the LMP2 category. Several years later there was the 1000 Miles of Sebring in the WEC and a presence in three long races this year under the Racing Team Nederland banner. In 2023, a full American programme awaits TDS Racing with an Oreca 07.

"Following on from our activities in LMP2 and the great season in IMSA this year, TDS Racing will contest the entire championship in 2023," Xavier Combet, co-owner of the team with Jacques Morello, told Endurance-Info. "For this, we will establish a base in the United States. This year, the welcome from IMSA has been very warm and the results positive with two second places at Daytona and Sebring."

"All of this encourages us to continue and to go further," continues Xavier Combet. "We like everything about the United States: the formats, the restarts, the rules, the atmosphere. It's not one thing that motivates us, it's everything."

For its full-time American programme, TDS Racing has confirmed the presence of François Heriau. The French driver, who is racing this year in the FIA WEC with Ultimate, got his start at the 24 Hours of Daytona last January with Algarve Pro Racing. His return to the American continent, this time on a full-time basis, delights him: "Ever since I had a taste of Daytona, I've only had one desire: to return. The Bronze rated drivers play a real role on the track in the IMSA championship."

TDS Racing will now prepare for its full-time move to IMSA. The Roar Before the Rolex 24 from 20-22 January will be a first opportunity to get a feel for the competition.
