The 12th edition of the prestigious Gulf 12 Hours is set to feature the largest GT3 grid in the history of motorsport in the Middle East at Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi on 11 December.

The provisional entry list, published today, includes 34 GT3 cars from the world’s leading manufacturers. A final entry list, which will also contain additional Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (992) entrants and more GT3 cars currently wait-listed, will be published at the end of the month.

As the final round of the 2022 Intercontinental GT Challenge, the Gulf 12 Hours has joined an elite club of the world’s most important GT endurance races, bringing down the curtain on the season, following events at Bathurst, Spa-Francorchamps and Indianapolis.

The most successful team in Gulf 12 Hours history, Kessel Racing, is back with four Ferrari 488 GT3 cars, as part of an impressive total of 10 Ferraris (5 for AF Corse) on the provisional entry list.

Last year’s winner 2 Seas Motorsport, from nearby Bahrain, will defend its crown with two Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo cars. The German marque will be represented by a total of nine cars as it seeks a third Gulf 12 Hours win.

Audi (with Attempto Racing and Saintéloc Racing), McLaren (including Garage 59 and Optimum Motorsport) and Porsche (Earl Bamber Motorsport or Herberth Motorsport) will have four cars, while BMW will have only one... unless WRT takes advantage of the event to make its debut with BMW, because if the Belgian team has two entry tickets, the identity of the manufacturer has not been revealed !
