  • Hypercar BMW, which recently unveiled a video of the shakedown of its M Hybrid V8 (see HERE), has published on social medias a photo of the wheel of its LMDh. The car has been sent to the United States for further testing by Team RLL, which will enter two cars in IMSA next year. 

 

  • WEC Japan was hit by Typhoon Hinnamnor yesterday, so many flights to the Japanese archipelago were postponed. Many people in the WEC paddock, both organisers and competitors, were affected. What about the weather for the weekend? On Friday, for Free Practice 1 and 2, the weather is expected to be stormy, with the chance of rain increasing from 60% in the morning to 75% in the afternoon. However, no showers are expected on Saturday and Sunday.

 

  • Formula E A new driver expected to compete in the WEC next year, in this case with Porsche, has been announced in Formula E. It is André Lotterer. With two pole positions, eight podiums and two fastest race laps to his name, the three-time winner of the Le Mans 24 Hours joins Jake Dennis in the Avalanche Andretti Autosport, which will use the Porsche powertrain in the coming season.

 

  • Rally Romain Dumas took part in the Rallye du Cigalois last weekend. The official Porsche driver finished 4th overall (group victory) at the wheel of a BMW M3 E30. 
  • GT Open Before heading to the Red Bull Ring, Theeba Motorsport completed two days of testing at Hockenheim. The Mercedes-AMG GT3 of Reema Juffali and Adam Christodoulou had a big crash during the previous International GT Open meeting at Spa-Francorchamps. 

 

  • ELMS Gedlich Racing organised two days of testing in Portimao. Several teams were on the Portugese track to prepare for the European Le Mans championship finale: Mühlner Motorsport, Graff, Rinaldi Racing, United Autosports, COOL Racing, DKR Engineering, Team Virage, Nielsen Racing.

  • Off-road ADESS, one of the LMP3 manufacturers, presented an SSV BEV (battery electric vehicle): 250 hp, 1200 kg, 4-wheel drive, race range of 70 to 100 km. Carlos Tavares, president of Stellantis and a personal stakeholder in ADESS, was present.

  • GT Open Baron Motorsport will be on track this weekend at the Red Bull Ring in the International GT Open. A Ferrari 488 GT3 will be at the start for Philipp Baron and Ernst Kirchmayr. Both drivers have been racing in the Ferrari Challenge. 

 

  • GT3 Raffaele Marciello's 2023 programme is not yet known, but the Swiss-Italian driver is again expected to drive a Mercedes-AMG GT3 next season. For 2024, it's a different story... 

 

  • British GT Brands Hatch hosts the British GT this weekend. Apart from the ongoing appeal, Ian Loggie could become the first driver since 2010 to win the British GT3 title by a race. He heads to Brands Hatch with an unofficial lead of 39 points, but that would become 33 if the provisional Spa result changes. Both margins are huge by British GT standards. Loggie will be able to count on the point of Jules Gounon in the Mercedes-AMG GT3/RAM Racing. The entry list is here

 

  • Le Mans Jann Mardenborough joins Ludovic Pezé's MFT with the firm intention of returning to the Le Mans 24 Hours by 2024. The Briton, a former Nissan GT Academy winner, has two appearances in the classic race. The objective of MFT and its driver is to bring a staff and drivers from Africa to Le Mans. 
  • NLS Falken Motorsports will run the 12-hour race on the Nordschleife this weekend. Two Porsche 911 GT3 R cars will be at the start. Joel Eriksson, Sven Müller, Jaxon Evans and Alessio Picariello will be in the #3 car. The #4 car will be driven by Côme Ledogar, Ayhancan Güven, Martin Ragginger and Klaus Bachler.
