WEC - Who can still be crowned ? The situation in all categories before Fuji

The 2022 World Endurance Championship season is entering its final stretch. Here is the situation before the last two rounds.

Before we begin our analysis, a quick reminder is in order. Four of the six races on the calendar have already been run.

 

In Fuji - a 6-hour race - the top 10 finishers will score 25, 18, 15, 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2 and 1 point(s) respectively. Each car above that will score 0.5 point. In Bahrain - an eight-hour event - they will score 38, 27, 23, 18, 15, 12, 9, 6, 3 and 2 points respectively. Each car ranked higher will collect 1 point.

Counting the pole point, a competitor can score another 65 units with a clean sweep (110 in the GTE Manufacturers' Championship for Porsche and Ferrari).

Below are only the protagonists who still have a mathematical chance of being crowned before this penultimate meeting.

HYPERCAR

Who will win the Hypercar title, Toyota or Alpine? Will Sébastien Buemi and Brendon Hartley claim a third crown?

GTE

Which of Porsche or Ferrari will close the magnificent GTE Pro era in WEC? Corvette can no longer claim the Manufacturers' title, but with only one car against two competitors, it is for sure not a surprise.
