A few weeks after announcing its entry in the Asian Le Mans Series with an ORECA 07 LMP2, COOL Racing / CLX Motorsport confirms its presence in the LMP3 class as well. A Ligier JS P320 will be entered for the 2023 season with driver Cédric Oltramare, as the young Swiss makes his debut in this class.

As in the European Le Mans Series, COOL Racing / CLX Motorsport will lead the LMP2 and LMP3 efforts at Dubaï and Abu Dhabi in February with four races of four hours each. Alongside the #37 ORECA 07, driven by Alexandre Coigny and Malthe Jakobsen in LMP2, the Ligier JS P320 will be on track in the LMP3 category. It's a class the team knows well, having finished in the runner up spot in the 2021 European Le Mans Series LMP3 championship and in which they currently lead in 2022. The team also showed well in the Michelin Le Mans Cup, with a victory at Imola and another at Road To Le Mans.

Cédric Oltramare is the first driver confirmed in the program and is already part of the COOL Racing team in Ligier European Series, having won in Monza a few weeks ago. The 20 year-old Swiss driver, who made his racing debut last season, will be discovering the LMP3 class. He got his first taste of the Ligier JS P320 during a testing session in July.

« I enjoyed discovering the prototype and my first test was positive with consistent progress. » explains Cédric. « Moving to LMP3 is the logical next step from Ligier   European Series and I can't wait to racing in the Asian Le Mans Series. Of course, it will be very different, but it's a nice championship with a chance to be on track on several occasions, on two different circuits. It's perfect for me to get my bearings. I can also count on the team's experience, who are the top reference in the class, and the other drivers within the team. »

For COOL Racing / CLX Motorsport, this entry also corresponds to the desire to give drivers the opportunity to move up the ladder in Endurance racing. « As with Malthe, who will move from LMP3 to LMP2, Cédric is getting ready to move to the next level » confirms Nicolas Lapierre, Team Principal. « This follows our philosophy of giving young drivers the chance to evolve step by step. Cédric showed good promise during his first test. In the #17, the idea is to have him gain experience and to accompany him. In any case, we're happy to be able to enter two prototypes in Asian LMS, with high hopes for LMP2. Until then, we must succeed in the second part of our season in Europe, where we have big objectives in all categories. »

After the summer break, COOL Racing / CLX Motorsport will return to competition in Barcelona at the end of August, with an ORECA 07 in LMP2 and two Ligier JS P320 in LMP3.
